Here she comes!

Emma and I stopped at Trader Joe’s after dropping Soph off at school. It was early enough (so practically empty), that she was able to test drive the little shopping cart.   She loved it! Before she even added anything to the basket, she and the cart fell over as she tried to turn.  (No picture of that because I rushed to help her up. No tears on her end, though.)

I will note that she was not so crazy about pushing the cart around as we added more items, because it did get heavy. Also, Emma was providing input on what products she wanted. Bananas✔️ macaroni and cheese✔️ yogurt of every variety✔️ She even has mastered the art of sampling products nonchalantly. She is such a big girl!

When the cat is away

This little mouse is going to play (with all her big sister’s things). Unfortunately, sharing isn’t Sophie’s (or most three year old’s) best quality while at home. (I hope she is better at it while she is at school.) So, while her big sister goes to school, Emmy gets to play with her toys. This princess castle is a big hit. Emma likes the songs. While her sister came out a singer, Emmy loves to dance.

Dentist

Lately, Emma has been showing a great interest in oral hygiene.

(null)I like her fancy footwork in this one.

Take note of how many toothbrushes are in that drawer keeping in mind we have four humans living here. She seems to prefer the minty residue left on Anthony’s and my toothbrushes, but she really doesn’t discriminate too much. We could use a dentist in the family.

So proud

You have started to say either “Arthur” or your version of “out of here”. Apparently, Sophie asks to watch Arthur in the mornings and you hear “out of here” multiple times a day so we aren’t sure which one it is. Emma loves a good dish of dog food (good thing we spoiled Payton into believing he can only eat the finest food) and, in total seriousness, she treats a dog dish full of water is like a personal sized play pool. (We raise the creative type.) “Out of here” is also heard while Emma is playing in the bathroom, in the dog’s cage, and going through the pantry. I think we are going to go with “out of here” and call that your first phrase.

Sorry, Emma

While I tried to take a photo of your sister’s one braided pigtail, I let a bee land on your forehead. You are fine but I am sorry I didn’t put you first. Love you tons and I will work on my priorities.

IMG_1444.JPG you are also the cutest.

Almost a year

And your favorite place to sleep is still in my arms. (We need to work on that. In the meantime, I am trying to soak it all up.)

IMG_1383.JPGYou are so sweet. You love your people (Sophie and I are your inner circle) and daddy is growing on you. (You have made your daddy work way harder to earn your trust than Sophie did. But he is crazy about you and was so proud when he heard you say “Dada”.)

Morning Snuggles

I just slithered my arm out from under you so I could gracefully roll off the bed without waking you. How lucky am I that, almost every morning, the place you feel most comfortable is in the crook of my arm snuggled up next to me?

9 months

How did she get so old?! We visited the doctor this morning. She did great. 20 lbs. 9oz. and 27.75 in. Still has a peanut head. (Seriously. Weight and height are 75% and her head is 25%. It really doesn’t usually look so little.) She also got to ride in a big girl seat because Sophie stayed at home.

Emma is so, so sweet. She usually gives me nothing but sweet smiles, giggles, and just started saying “Mama.” So many changes in the past nine months for this little thing.
